4 environmentally friendly jobs that put some green in your wallet

Sustainable jobs that align with your values.

Eco-awareness has become a way of life for so many people—from a Green New Deal to electric cars to avoiding using plastic straws. It's become second nature for you to recycle and reuse, so it's no surprise that those same concerns are part of your requirements for finding the right company to work for.

In fact, according to a recent Monster poll, 53% of respondents said that it's important for them to work someplace where sustainability is taken seriously. So, in honor of Earth Day, here are four professions that take sustainability seriously. Not only do these jobs align with your values, have an average salary over $50,000 a year based on data from PayScale, but also offer great growth potential according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

You can create new gathering places for communities or rejuvenate existing facilities and areas just the same. On top of that, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 13% job growth between 2016 and 2026.

This is no job for a slouch. Major gifts officers are tasked typically with soliciting donations ranging from $10K to those exceeding six figures to help the cause and subsequently maintaining close relationships with those donors. The lobbying interests of those who like to deny climate change have some deep pockets. To combat that, the green-minded need to find some serious cash as well.
